Gisèle Harrison, MSW, RSW has a private trauma therapy practice in Windsor, Ontario, Canada. She provides trauma and dissociation focused EMDR therapy in both French and English for adults of all ages and adolescents that are at least 15 years old and reside in Ontario.
Gisèle graduated from Wilfrid Laurier University in 1999, during which time she observed several EMDR therapy sessions during her 2nd internship. In 2001, she completed her first EMDR Basic Training and is now an EMDRIA certified therapist, Approved Consultant, and Basic Trainer. Gisèle is an affiliate faculty member with The Institute for Creative Mindfulness.
Gisèle specializes in the treatment of C-PTSD, dissociative conditions, developmental trauma, gendered violence, physical and sexual abuse, neglect, grief, racialized trauma, and chronic illness/chronic pain as well as other adverse life experiences.
Gisèle artfully combines parts work (IFS, ego state, inner child, Schema therapy, and Gestalt), attachment therapy, somatic psychology, yoga, insight meditation, expressive arts and cognitive behavioural therapy within her EMDR practice.
Gisèle is a feminist activist that strives to be intersectional in everything she does. From this perspective she has written book chapters, guest columns, and blogs, organized and participated in marches in Canada and in the USA. Gisèle loves to connect the dots between the personal and the political systems that advantage and disadvantage individuals based on their caste.
